Well, I installed the new laser.  POT reading was 3.54 initially.  Could not play backups.  Read originals.

Tweaked the POT Reading to 3.24.  Now reads backups.  However, the drive still has some issues with fmvs.

Argh.  I might just buy a Samsung, and be happy with that.

Ok.  Just tried playing the fmv again.  Doesn't freeze.  So, should I up the calibration a bit?

Thoughts?
 

I feel ur pain, one time it goes SMOOTH and next its DOOMSDAY for that Backup/game..  I emediatly bhought an new one...that way ive got an spare part PLUS .... it shouldnt be the drive anymore but rather the backup if it still continues... i guess.  Pot tweaks work very lil but not great in terms of fixing movie skipping pauses in in movies but it works on "open disc tray issues"  all my backups BOOTS no question about it... but it still give here and there hick ups in playback u know for the rest of the play time........
