Backups - Dirty Disc
« on: February 03, 2020, 06:38:00 PM »

Skip straight to the end if you don't want to read

Right, a few days ago i flashed my 360 (Hitachi 78FK) with iXtreme 1.4 8x speed.
I bought a brand new pack of verbtim 2.4x dual layers from a high street shop (worked out over 4$ a disk as i live in rip off britain, ridiculous i know). Anyway was pretty bummed to then read that these were the indian made ones and these are apparently the worst.

I ran my Halo 3 backup through mulleter which said it was fine, burnt the .dvd file with correct layer break at 2x to a disc. Unfortunately when i try to play the disc my drive makes loud noises (they remind me of when i used to stick a scratched disc in my PS1), it boots to a black screen and then gives a dirty disc error.

I've tried 4 different times and each one has been a coaster, can anyone help?

360 drive: Hitachi 78FK w/ iXtreme 1.4 8x
Burner: Pioneer DVR-K16D (DL capable, inbuilt laptop drive)
Media: Verbatim 2.4x DL (India)
Burnt with: Clonecd @ 2x

I purchased a Pioneer 215DBK off the net earlier this evening and am hoping that will work, but not 100% sure the burners at fault here.
