is that only with backups,

on which media, burn at what speed

and on which x360 Drive and firmware (if samsung 5.2 version a,b,c or D?)

How have you done the backup?
-for ss.bin which software & drive
-for game.iso which software & drive
-how was it merged

well no obvious source of problem here, but must admit I do not know this burner. If the other backup are working well then it must be OK.

Maybe just a bad burn so you could retry it
or use the original for the parts where the backup gives you a problem if you do not want to invest another DVD for these games.

When I first got my 360 about three months ago, the two brand new original games I got with it, PGR3, and Just Cause, were both giving me disc unreadable during gameplay. Since I flashed the drive and backed them up on verbs I haven't had a single problem.

Guess my 360 only likes backups

I flashed a hitachi drive a while back that barely read even legitimate media it was so badly calibrated, but with a small pot tweak went from virtually unworking to reading everything. I wouldnt suggest a pot tweak as a first resort, (or even a second one) cause it MIGHT damage the life of your drive, but if you have consistent problems with known good media and drive combos, its worth looking at.
Oh and note, when I say it might damage the life, this is only if you tweak excessively, tweaking to an optimal level shouldnt affect the life whatsoever, but please dont try it unless you have a multimeter and can check
