Best Lcd Hdtv For 800$
« on: June 15, 2006, 11:36:00 AM »

Hey guys I am looking to buy a LCD HDTV within the next 3 weeks or so. I don't want to spend more then 800$. I'm trying to get a 30" at smallest. I have found quite a few suprisingly. If you have any input on which I should get or know of any others that would be better for my price range let me know. Also if you see any on my list that I should definetly not get let me know asap and I will cross them off the list. Thanks for all the help.

I was actually just looking at the Westinghouse 32w6. Is that the model you got? I am hearing great things about it all over the net. I'm looking around now for a deal so I can get it for around 800$ if possible. From what I have hered the new Westinghouse models (the black ones) are much much better then the old (silver) models.

avsforums is your best bet for finding info on these LCDs.

I bought both a Westinghouse 32w6 and 32w4 LCDs 2 weeks ago.  They're both nice sets and works very well with the 360 and HDTV especially for the $$$.

The w6 was on sale at bestbuy last week for $899.  You just missed out.  But if you get lucky, you may be able to find  an open box for an even better steal.  Here is a 20% off open box coupon: http://forums.slickdeals.net/attachment.ph...94&d=1149175708

Its a hitachi refurbished set, whenever hitachi gets returns the fix whatever is wrong with them and send them on to licensed retailers as refurbished just like UEC.

Most of the time they are left over sets that didn't sell at mom and pop stores. Many people have delt with UEC without any complaints.

If you are only spending $800 I would stay away from LCD if the smallest you want is 30". Response time will suck balls.

I was walking past the LCD section yesterday and the Phillips struck me as being one of the best there. I wouldn't say it was the absolute clearest (I think I saw one other that had a sharper picture. It might have been a Westinghouse), but it handled movement a lot better.

No, it means the tv can either convert and display SD material as 540p or 1080i

I see. Now the only thing I need to know what is the frame rate response.

So basically I'm thinking I got it down to one of the following... so let me know what you think out of those 3. Thanks!

Sceptre 32" Model X32SV-NAGAII 800$ from Costco & NewEgg
(IMG:http://content.costco.com/Images/Content/Product/881437L.jpg)

Philips 32" Model 32PF7320A/37B $799.99 from Philips Outlet
(IMG:http://www.store.philips.com/IMS_DOCS/43/436E1024C82B00EB00000000828BD472.jpg)

Or the Westinghouse 32" LCD LTV-32w6 if I can find it for around 800$ somewhere
