Wait, does this thing only support really high resolutions, or does it actually upscale to those resolutions aswell? I ask because 480p from my Wii looks like ass on my HDTV. Never had a VGAbox before so I don't know.

Gefen has some (expensive) Scalers: http://www.gefen.com...sp?prod_id=4174

I've been wanting to get one, but I'll be damned if I can find some comparison screenshots.

Hmm.. well I have a 24" dell LCD, will this thing give me 1080p, as at the moment, the most I can get with the default component cables is 1080i... Do you have any suggestions? I heard I could get 1080p with a standard vga cable, but it required all these changes to colour and what not which I wasn't too keen on doing....

That doesn't make any sense. If your monitor is 1920x1200, then it should do 1080p just fine. LCDs are all progressive by nature anyway.

Having your HDTV display low-res content results in input lag on almost all TV's.  This makes some games impossible to play...

If you aren't familiar with this, look here :

Input Lag Explanation and FAQ

A good upscaler (which this VGA box probably is not) can solve this problem, by sending real 720p or 1080p signal to the TV, so the TV doesn't have to do the scaling itself...

I just bought a Samsung LN52A550, and I *highly* recommend it. No lag whatsoever (5ms response on all signals) from any source (Xbox 360 over HDMI/VGA [1080p], Wii over component [480p], XBox over component [1080i]). My mom has the 61" DLP "equivalent" and the lag is terrible, unless you use game mode, which sucks. Just thought I'd throw this out there, since I see some concerns over lag.

Yeah not quite..

Not sure where the hold-up is, but it's widely known that the dell 24" lcd, will not do 1080p from the xbox over component...

I didn't pay attention to the component part. Just buy the VGA cable, you don't need to adjust any settings, unless you want to.
