No Sound/no Video -it's Not The Cable
« on: March 05, 2008, 06:26:00 PM »

I've got an Xbox 360 (manufactored August 2006) that I bought to repair/mod.  I'm not sure what to make of it, but it has no video or audio output and I can't get a wireless controller to connect to it.

I can hook another Xbox up to the power and AV cable and it works fine, so I know the cable is good.

The broken system boots and has green lights, but has no video or sound.  If I unplug the A/V cable, I get a red ring, so I know the connector is at least sensing that it's plugged in.

I read somewhere that you can reset the video by holding down Y and R trigger, but I can't get a controller to connect to try it.

Any ideas of what I should try?
