The component video connection on the 360 already supports 1080p, using a VGA to Component transcoder wont change anything.

Chances are your TV doesn't accept 1080p over component either...

I'm guessing your TV doesn't support 1080p natively (else it would support it over VGA)... what is the native rez if your TV?
