Multi Component On Lcd
« on: February 10, 2007, 04:34:00 PM »

Hey, ive currently got my 360 hooked up via component to my parents lcd, which runs at 1080i and looks sweet. The problem is they want the dvd player hooked up via the component, as they bought an expensive component cable for the dvd player. The problem is it only has one component input, so i went and bought an official ms vga cable. Hooked up vga to the 360 and tv but the shame is the tv supports 1024x768 only sad.gif which doesnt look very nice :F. What would be my best option, can i purchase a simple switch, or possible use another input on the tv without quality loss.

If you are willing to spend some money, you can consider something like the Psyclone Source Selector PSC01.  They sell for around $100 and you can get them at places like Best Buy or Circuit City.

# good quality RCA splitters would solve your problem. Just make sure that you don't have both the 360 and the DVD turned on at the same time. Or better yet, just use the 360 as the DVD player!?

It wouldn,t hurt anything to have them both on at the same time, but you would get a scrambled picture.

1680x1050, im gambling on that ms will introduce this res in the future i dont see why not and it seems to be a much requested res. If not 1280 will look good now for smile.gif

i honestly dont think m$ will add extra resolutions. i have a 1440x900 monitor (also reasonably popular but not sup[ported). playing at 1280x720 (720p) works magic for me
