1080p Tv List
« on: December 04, 2006, 01:50:00 AM »

Hey guys. I know that the Westinghouse LVM-37W3 offers the coveted 1080p through VGA feature. I'm looking for another TV and this time want to get something that will allow me to play the 360 to it's highest potential. These set above, doesn't offer the best performance, and I've been looking hard trying to find better TVs that accept 1080p in a way that the 360 can handle. Can any of you name some other/better sets that do? Thanks.

Why do you say that?  My brother has that westy and i'm very impressed with its picture quality.  You really cannot beat it without spending a grand more on another brand.

The LVM-37w3 from BestBuy really is the LTV-37w2, which is NOT 1920 x 1080. It's native resolution is 1366 x 768.

Xbox 360 offers unprecedented support for high-definition gaming, yet it remains flexible as well. Whether using a standard definition TV (480i), an HDTV with only one progressive scan option, or an HDTV with every available option (up to 720p and 1080i), or even a computer monitor, Xbox 360 will employ the best resolution your TV or monitor can display.

I'm pretty sure the 360 only supports up to 1080i.  This is from the xbox 360 website.

and thats why they had a fall update to make it support 1080p.

After the Fall update, it will now support 1080p through VGA for everything, but it will only support 1080p over componet for Games and video streaming.

I have a Samsung 50" 1080P DLP TV model number S5087W & it accepts 1080P over VGA, Component & HDMI. My 360 is connected to the TV thru VGA & my DVD's look great when unconverted to 1080P.
