It should. (You probably tried it already)

check specs for your proyector here and also read the proyector's manual (RTFM). wink.gif

If you can use it to watch other things in HD through component connections why wouldn't you be able to use it with an Xbox 360?

I use my Xbox 360 Exclusively with a front Projector.. as do many other people.

i think HD is best in 1080i format... i believe the specs are 1080 x 720. i could be wrong about the 720 part, its whichever goes with the 1080 thing

Well some people told me that I won't be able to get "true" High Definition since the resolution of the projector is only 800 x 600. Is that true?

If that is the resolution your projector displayed "natively" then yes you are NOT getting true HD... Your projector needs a native resolution of 1280x720 or higher for true HD...  Your projector probably "supports" HD which means it can get the signal then down sample it to 800x600 (probably closer to 800x533 since it will be letter-boxed) So really you're only getting slightly better then what's called EDTV or Enhanced Definition (480p)

rolleyes.gif 720p is often considered a superior format to 1080i. 720p is 1280x720 progressive, and 1080i is 1920x1080 interlaced. I'd recommend reading my sticky topic about the different AV formats.

I agree, but 720p is often preferred because it's progressive  tongue.gif

unless you're using a CRT 720p is usually superior to 1080i.

It looks better then 480p, but it doesn't hold a candle to true 720p

I would suggest you read the stickies before you go giving people advice on a topic you obviously know very little about.

yep.  Anything below 1280x720 is EDTV.  A 1024x768 set is an EDTV set.

ok well heres where i stand i have a toshiba 27" LCD HDTV and i have a DLP projector that natives at 1024x768p. both when using a 720p signal look near identical. the LCD is a little bit sharper but nothing large enough to call one superior really. mind you i have i had both professionally calibrated. but basically i know some people/manfacturers call it HD others disagree, but i have never heard it called EDTV, its way to high to be compared to a 480p (640x480p,852x480p). i dunno what you want to call it, for every person i talk to that says its HDTV theres another thats says it isn't. all i know is that the projector looks HD to me and a few friends who directly did the comparison.  so i dunno i don't think companies that release 1024x768p tv's labled as HDTV's should be able to if they truly aren't.

for the record here is the lcd i use

TOSHIBA 27" HDTV
