Now maybe this is a foolish question, but you did plug in the red and white cables, right?

have you tried hooking it up to a different device? (even just a radio with LR inputs)

also are you sure the inputs you're using on the TV are actually inputs and not outputs?

Finally, are you sure your TV accepts audio while using the VGA cable? (some don't)
