The reciever has a/v's and optical inputs for sound.  So I gotta buy a optical cable that goes from RCA's with red/white female connecters that turns into a optical port?  Then just plug it in the recievers optical?

Yep you need to use an optical cable to get 5.1. Just plug it betwen the 360's optical out and then receiver/speakers optical in

That price seems reasonable.  Also,  I guess my dvd player is playing movies in 5.1.  Atleast it sounds like it.

I put in saving private ryan for a test.  Sounds crazy,  where ever they firing in the movie you hear it in the proper speaker  cool.gif .

Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. They are 70$ for a reason. You will get the best sounding surround sound with those cables. 70$ is a average price for a set of monster cables. You will end up getting crap with 20$ cables.

sorry try again...

fiber optic is just plastic. Moster's claim to fame is oxygen free 4x grounded which does NOTHING for fiber optic because it's light as opposed to electricity.

besides it's digital, which means it either works or it doesn't work, there is no "good", "better" "best".

Buy the $20 optical from Walmart and have a nice day  smile.gif

BTW not even the official Monster Optical cable for the Xbox 360 costs $70 dry.gif
