Xbox 360 On Infocus Sp 4805

I'm currently running this set up in 1080i.  When I switch to 720p, the image is much darker and wavy.  I can run 720p from my TimeWarner HD cable box and from my DVD player, so I know the projector is capable of displaying this resolution.  Is anyone else running a set up like this?  If so, what did you do to obtain 720p resolution w/o the darkness and the wavy image?
