Chop off the left and right sides of the internal 1280x720 image and scale up to fit.
ie: 1280x720 -chop-> 960x720 -scale-> 1280x1024
end result: lose detail, but seems silly since the image already does fit, but for the sake of FULLSCREEN, the image has to be altered. I hope I'm wrong!!!
16:9 Display with resolution at 1280x720.
end result: Perfect. No change needed.
16:9 Display with resolution greater than 1280x720, like 1080 display.
Just scale up.
ie: 1280x720 -scale-> 1920x1080
end result: No loss of detail, though may be less sharp. Of course, 1920x1080 means 1080p. But MS has only announced 1080i support which makes things a little tricky for those with 1080p displays. The nature of a 1080p LCD display can't naturally show 1080i but will have to convert it to 1080p. The conversion can be good, or it could be bad.
