theres no need for an HD encoder since the systems alaredy are HD, all 360 games will be in HD, and HD-enabled xbox games will be in HD, for xbox you have to enable HD in the dashbaord

with your compnent cable plugged in load the MS dashbaord, go to settings and video, then youll see a list of video modes, enable all the ones your TV supports (480p 720p 1080i)

You can get a Samsung Thin Tube CRT for a little more than that I think it is worth saving up a little bit till you can get it.

the HD encoders is just for the TV signal

HD ready means you need to use an HD device, 360 IS and HD device, so its all good, nothin gmore needed (i thought i said that)

not sure why you can't sort this out yourself but, here you go:

HD Ready... the TV will display HD, as long as it is getting and HD signal

HD built-in... the TV has a built in HD decoder

so, the new xbox 360, with HD av cables and an hd-ready tv will be good to go...

broadcast TV? will be in standard definition with an HD ready TV (will still look good though, just because the TVs kinda make everything look good)

will be in HD for an HD built-in tv

i honestly dont know anyone with an HD TV that didnt get digital cable or satellite tv

ok how about this--i want a sharp LC20B6U aquos 20" LCD HDTV-Ready TV but all i kan find is it displays in 480p (EDTV size) and no higher (like 1080), but it IS FOR SURE HDTV ready, so does that mean with the right encode or digital box it wil be 720 or 1080 (in other words, are ALLL hdtv-readies capable of 720 or 1080) and it also only says it runs in 4:#, but what about the 16:1 or whatever it is--help me, kuz i KNOW it is hdtv ready, is this just showing the capabilites of it withou an encode or box? ----------------
HELP ME PLEASE!
SOMEONE!!
