Just noticed this. XboxMediaCenter and Windows XP Media Center have very similiar looking interfaces. Was this a coincidence? Probably not. Not that it matters. Just an observation.

This is something the xbmc team should fix IMO. xbmp/xbmc are two great and extremely impressive projects, they deserve better than a gui that is a cheap ripoff.

The sooner the interface moves away from this blatant theft the better. The Flatstyle skin is really nice, and with a few tweaks it would be perfect. Whoever made that one needs to do the webserver skin too, that would be awesome.  :)

well, i for one beleive MS is compiling all these bios, apps, and mod chips.  they are making tons of money sellling mod chips! not to mention all the extra xboxs they sell from people who fuck up theirs trying to open it! haha.  makes sense to me.  the only people losing money are the game makers.

ok my paranoid rant has ended...

It was on purpose I think, maybe to mock MS?

I like it, the "feel" of it is cool.

It's kind of funny to see Media Center in ads (like Best Buy) and all I can think of is XBMC, mainly because I"ve never even seen the Windows Media Center in person.  Maybe one day they'll advertise an Xbox with XBMC on it (not likely...., but hell, I can ramble).  <_<

MCE isn't anything special..  The current version out right now lacks several features that would make it appealing to the end users.  HDTV support is one feature that comes to mind.  I think XBMC is a breakthrough product for the xbox gaming console.. it's simply wonderful!
