I know it isn't finished, but it seems to have a bit too much of a comical slant. It would be great to play a completely open game in which you try to stay alive, fighting off zombie hordes in a mall. From what I've seen though, it looks like it will be scripted: (. If it turns out how I had originally wanted, it could be The Killer App. Can you imagine how awesome a Dawn of the Dead simulation could turn out. It would be so sweet to have to think up ways to survive.

i understand what your talking about, you want it to be a free roaming game similar to GTA but inside of a huge mall, right?  that does sound like a good prospect but there would be problems with that direction, what would happen if you killed all the zombies?  it would get boring pretty fast.  also in more open games there are many characters to go to and interact with to add to the story, pass time with, or just have something to do other then the main story, but in dead rising there isnt much room for character interaction as there are only zombies and civilians to contend with.  i agree with you but with the setting that the game takes place i dont think it would work out that well.  now that would be a great idea for the sequal and if it isnt restricted to just one building and maybe be staged in an entire city, with different forts and hold ups by the survivors (similar to the Land of the Dead movie), now that would be a great open ended game.

I think you you got most of what I'm saying. Since there are achievements, it would be cool if the story was so open that it is possible to get acheivements based on who survives. Say there is a character that is a 100 year old woman. She's slow, on top of that if she get's too scared or you take too long; she dies. Escorting her through the game would be an intense challange. Also, I think it would be prudent to have infinite zombies because we are assuming that a whole city is after you, the zombies should trickle in through specific areas like broken glass door. I don't think you should be confined to the mall, but leaving it would be foolish because you would get mauled in minutes. Then again, jumping out the front door, hotwiring a car, and leaving town, could be an achievement.

i played it at zero hour.  it's pretty scripted however, there are still plenty of zombies to beat and bash on your way to objectives.  it's still fun and i'll buy it when it comes out biggrin.gif
