Co-op Concern

My brother and I have playing co-op and are at the Shai-Gen level of the game. We've already gone through the Volk and Los Muertos gangs. He's been hosting. And he has been getting some achievements that I have not. Like the Intel master and killing all gang member achievements. Is there something I'm missing or not doing correctly? Just wondering if any other co-opers here have noticed something similar?
