Assassin’s Creed: The 5pct Cross-Platform Difference
Posted by XanTium | September 5 12:35 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From thebbps.com:
Quote

We had a chance to speak with Lead Engineer for Assassin's Creed, Mathieu Mazerolle and asked the big question; how do the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions stack-up against each other?
"Our goal is to ship the two versions of [Assassin's Creed] to be within 5% or less of difference between each other. That doesn't mean the PS3 is 5% "better" or "worse", it's really just an approximation and a statement that while the two versions are very similar, there will be (as there always is) small, hopefully inperceptible, differences between the two versions within a very small threshold."

Later adding:
"Both machines are very complex and have very distinct strengths and weaknesses, so it's almost impossible to quantify these sorts of comparisons - we just want to make the game as good as it can be on both platforms, and owners of both consoles will get the same experience from playing [Assassin's Creed]."

I'm more worried about the controls then the graphics.

Just sounds like they're being politically conservative. Either way, I'm looking forward to playing this game. . . on my 360 that is.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

DMAddict is spot on - I'm growing tired of people putting that stupid question to artists - They have to be loyal to the 2 platforms that they want their games to appear on thus, they have to give a fair answer to both - you'll never hear anything different!

that statement seems like a wast of time.  All he is saying is that they are trying to make both versions of the game the same.  Wel no shit.  It would make sence try and make them that much different from each other.

80% of Assassins creed buyers will be the 360 version...

20% (if that) will be the ps3 ppl...

Im from a *small* area, and almost everyone has a 360 around here (1 outta 3 have a 360)

out of all the people i know in the area, there are maybe....5-10 ps3's (yes very vague in my assumption) and those ppl with ps3's ALSO have 360's so...

im just gonna take a quick guess and assume the 360 version will run better, just like most crossplatform games.

the only company that has took a definitive stand on which console it better was epic talking about how ps3 was able to run unreal much better. every other company has stuck with the same generic shit excuse " both consoles are complicated, we are making the games the exact same" i think no comany wants to stand up and say which is better looking/easier to develop on etc.

I don't understand the point of releasing this statement, it just highlights the fact that there IS a difference between the two versions. If they hadn't said anything people would just assume that they were identical.
