Xbox Live Disconnects Randomly
« on: March 05, 2007, 04:54:00 PM »

For two years I've had a regular Xbox wired into my router with no problems.  I now have a 360, exact same setup...  I kept getting disconnected randomly from Xbox Live.  Sometimes I can go an hour without a problem, but once in a while I get booted.  I can then sign right back in without problems.

My router is the D-Link DI-614+ (with two antennae).  I am using a firmware version that is not on the list of supported versions...  The 614+ is supported, but the firmware versions listed are for the single antenna unit, not mine.  Regardless, I have the newest firmware, and this version of the firmware worked perfectly with my old Xbox...

I tried a new ethernet cable, no difference.  I don't have any huge DLs running or anything weird like that...

I'm going to try to plug the thing directly into the router and see if that helps.  Any other suggestions?  Does this sound like an ISP or router issue?  Since my setup is the same as before and I now have a problem, is my Xbox busted?

Thanks.
