Xbox Live Ports

Hey, I have been looking on forum but cant find any info on this... Right... Is it possible to bock xbox live ports on my router so my firmware mod cant be detected but i can still stream media on my network? Or even better is it possible to block just the checks that ms do so you can still use xbox live? Prob Not lol.
