Memory Card Usb Data Access
« on: January 04, 2006, 07:53:00 AM »

Has anyone looked at the pinout on the xbox memory card. Because if one could create a USB adapter (assuming its USB based)..

Then it is possible it could connect to a normal computer and access the data. And to a further extent, that could be used to create custom themes... and copy your arcade games to the memcard.. then to the computer for perminate backup.

This could also be used to upload saved games...

let me know if this has been explored... thx

Well if you're gonna make a backup of a arcade game, you porpably don't need to edit anything, just make a sectordump and later write it to another MU biggrin.gif

yea, I suspose that would work.. but I mean also to 'read' the arcard game FS on a computer... this could also be used to modify arcade games... and maybe create custom levels... unless the level data files are encrypted..

meh, just a thought...

Rumor had it that all the game saves would be encrytped on the memory cards.  This was right around the time it came out....so maybe something new happened.  Did you check Free60 by chance?
