You guys need to stop making fun of him.

Not everyone on earth is a computer expert and knows how everything works.

Exactly, and it's not one of the most stupidest things said here on XS either.

I have to add my dose of comedy:
Maybe the guys from Pimp My Ride could make it work.  Call Xzibit.

guys of course this is funny but calm down. i know at this point in time it is impossible but think about the future. i know this is an XBOX forum but there is a similar instance to the PSP (no im not the Sony fanboy from gamespot, but i know him). people claimed downgrading a 2.0 was impossible until a hack came out. then they said that there is no way in hell 2.5/2.6--1.50 is possible but look now. so what seems impossible now, might be possible in a few years.

but im just gonna sit back like this ---> pop.gif  and watch how this plays out. and please dont kill me for the Sony comment. i own 3 XBOXs, a 360, and a dusty old PS2 for a few games. i love my XBOXs more than anything.

Taking the cores out is the wrong direction. Looking for a way to hack the 360 and run linux/Power PC windows would be the way to go.

Sooner or later it will happen.

and put into an oven for a certain time allowing the solder to melt and basically solder the cpu to the mobo.

Do they put a pizza in the oven at the same time as well?  jester.gif

Don't worry even I went through a funny time once asking silly questions. We all do it...

the 360's cpu is BGA (ball grid array) meaning there are little balls of solder attatched to the cpu during manufacturing via sticky soldering paste, and then placed onto the mobo, and put into an oven for a certain time allowing the solder to melt and basically solder the cpu to the mobo.

making removal very very hard.

Well, it's possible (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
