For Your Info..ich5r Uncompatibility Solution!
« on: January 31, 2007, 02:24:00 PM »

Hi all,

I was trying to hack a xbox 360 with the Hitachi DVD.I read all the guides and everything that was needed but i had this little problem.Although the Hitachi DVD-ROM was recognized by the BIOS and also when i typed the "mtkflash r /m orig.bin" or "mtkflash r /sata/m orig.bin" everything seemed to work fine..then the pc freezed everytime, either after i chose 1 for the Master option or just before that.It depends how fast i was pressing the "1" after the "mtkflash r /m orig.bin" command...So after a lot of trying and redoing basically the same things over and over again..such as..

1) Make sure RAID is disabled in your bios. There should be an option somewhere.

2) Keep your xbox connected to your computer, but do not turn it on until you are at the command prompt.

3) Try to run the command mtkflash.exe r /sata /m orig.bin instead (do not use if your sata is onboard... meaning not a pci card) If this is sucessful you'll have to use the command mtkflash.exe w /sata /m xtreme30.bin to flash.

4) If you have anything else in your computer that is SATA, disconnect it (harddrive), except your xbox 360. (keep your sata devices unplugged for the rest of this, once we get mtkflash working, then plug it in and see if it works.

5) Your mtkflash.exe needs editing. If you disconnected your harddrive, plug it back in and go to start>run>"msinfo32.exe" if it brings up microsoft help and support, you're going to have to rename a file to an extension of .nfo and try running it. Now go to components>storage>scsi. and you should see something like this...

Name Serial ATA Controller
Manufacturer
Status OK
PNP Device ID PCI\VEN_2211&DEV_4433&SUBSYS_31491106&REV_80\3&61AAA01&0&78
I/O Port 0x00006655-0x00006662
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000003
I/O Port 0x00008877-0x00008884
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000003
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x0000000F
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x000000FF
IRQ Channel IRQ 20
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\driver.sys (5.1.2600.201, 74.63 KB (76,416 bytes), 5/15/2006 7:00 AM)

Now the bits you are going to have to replace in your mtkflash.exe with hexedit are going to be this "11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88" You're msifo32 will look different, but the numbers in those positions are to be entered into mtkflash in that order.

EXAMPLE

Name Serial ATA Controller
Manufacturer
Status OK PNP
Device ID
PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3249&SUBSYS_31491106&REV_80\3&61AAA01&0&78
I/O Port 0x0000FD00-0x0000FD07
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000003
I/O Port 0x0000F100-0x0000F107
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x00000003
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x0000000F
I/O Port 0x00000000-0x000000FF
IRQ Channel IRQ
20 Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\driver.sys (5.1.2600.201, 74.63 KB (76,416 bytes), 5/15/2006 7:00 AM)

My string would be 06 11 49 32 00 FD 00 F1 and thats would would have to go into my mtkflash.exe.

Now how to insert it. open up mtkflash.exe with your hexeditor, and hit ctrl+g and goto line "b3d6" and replace what ever is there and whatever follows with 06 11 49 32 00 FD 00 F1. So you will have replaced 8 pairs with your own numbers, all of which start on b3d6 and end at b3dd.
Save and close, put that mtk on your disk, and go flash.

Hope this helps
Now you can flash.

i thought to try and update-flash my BIOS because there was a chance that my SATA controller didnt work fine or i dont know why..i just had that idea..so i tried to update it by using Award Flash through BIOS..For my surprize i got the same freezing of my pc just before the flash would normally start..So by generalizing the problem i started looking about "freeze" + "flash" + "BIOS" in Google..I didn't find any specific answer (that's why i am writting all this..) but i found somewhere in a page..THIS LITTLE SAVIOR!!!--> "drdflash.exe". By double clicking it..it makes a bootable floppy disc (my personal opinion deferent than the one that Windows XP does)..So after i made that disc i boot my pc by using it and a miracle happened...mtkflashed worked and everything worked pretty much fine!!!no more freezing and all that..

I have to add my SATA specs also because the reason of writting all these is to help anyone with the same problem from one hand and from the other hand to get an explanation about all these..
Any ideas guys why this happened??

thx in advance!!
