How to modify your BIOS
« Reply #31 on: June 18, 2003, 03:23:00 PM »

whenever i try to open a bios with it i get "Invalid Config Parameters for Kernel Extract" now i know for a fact that i am not trying to open a bios that has already been modded, so whats am i doing wrong?

ive tried it one evox 2.5 and x2 4973

EDIT - in case you wondering why such old bioses im doing a TSOP flash with the original bios, evox, x2 and linux cromwell (for the hell of it) and i was told that the newer d.6 and 4974 and higher dont liek to work when the original bios is present, can anyone confirm or deny that?

When I boot up using x2 4977 or evox 2.6 and it gets to the xbox screen and have the big x and says xbox than xecutor2 beneath it, can I change xecutor2 to the name of the bios I am using like x2_4977 or evox 2.6 when it boots up instead of just M$ or xecutor2? Thanks

in order to open/edit this bios, you must use a different ini, with the proper rc4 key and offsets.

such an ini (sans rc4 key) is on xbins

Is there a way I can use XBtool to make the power LED half red and half green?

I ask this because I did the switch out the wires mod to make it red, but screwed it up so only half of it is red now, (left half is red, right is green).   I would like to make it so the bios makes the left half Green and right half red. (which due to wire switching would make it all red)

Did that make any sense?

I realize I probally have to do somethign with the stages.

Would I set red stages to 3 and 4 and green to 1 and 2 to get what I need?

Thanks

Hey< I love xbtool you can do some amazing stuff with it. Now for my problem I can make great bio's but when used inconjunction with the newest evox it wont allow me to run games from my hard drive it seems to just restart evox. also a virgin bios will not do this however the virgin bios will not allow me to utilize my G drive. Any help would be appreciated.
