Do you have to have a modchip to do this? I put Linux on my xbox without even having to open it. And I can change the BIOS with XBTOOLS. Everyone that doesnt have a modchip already and is thinking about getting one, I suggest they install linux.  <---just my suggestion

on the xbtool website it shows a screen shot of the program.  what i noticed is that in the boot partitions and executables where you tel it what file tro boot 1st, the 1st one doesnt JUST say default.xbe it says avalaunch\default.xbe.  does this mean that it can make the xbox look in folders for the files (.xbe's) to boot instead of just the root of the partition?

blink.gif

Secondly there is a directory backup on the xbox c partition with a bios.bin file.
When I load that file in xbtools it says that it is evox m7.

What .bin file do I have to change for enabling LBA48 and what bios do I have Xecuter2 4974  or evox m7.
(I hope evox m7, because that one supports large disks)

you have evox m7. well, at least you had it when the backu was created.
x2 bios's support large hd's too. you can patch them in xbtool or use one of the newer ones where .06 is one large f partition and .67 is f and g.
the x2 bios is by far better then evox m7.

But how do I find out which bios my box is using.
The ini file suggest it is the evox m7, though it is not in the bios directory.

So how can I see which of the bin filez the box is using?

BTW thanx for your answer Scan-C, when I have a x2 I am gonna check it out biggrin.gif

evox should report it somewhere. you don't need a x2 for the x2 bios.

Hopefully someone will see this forum. I get that kernel extraction error, I've tried with rc4 and without, I'm trying to get the x2 4973 to get a large F drive >137gb. Anyone know why I might be getting this problem? Also tried to open the evox 2.6 same thing.

Can XBtool modify the Xecutor2 4983.06 bios?  I noticed on their website they mentioned that they only support Xecuter2 4981 - Xecuter2 4979 - Xecuter2 4978.03 - Xecuter2 4977 - Xecuter2 4976.02
Evox M7 - EvoX D.6
