Have you managed to re-write to the drive and had it fully working in the xbox 360 again

Im starting to get tempted to rip out my 360 drive, dump it in either knoppix or windows hex workshop and take a look

Hi there,

Sorry for the lack of progress updates (I'm stalled with Work/IRL stuff  sad.gif ).

I've yet to attempt to write anything back to the X360 HDD, but this is my very next scheduled test (scheduled for when time next allows unsure.gif ).

Well, this should make it all easier in the future.  Just have to wait for Angerwound to iron the bugs out.

This is probably a n00b question, but please don't flame:  I was reading in other posts (as well as this one) that Windows will corrupt the hard drive... will this still happen if you use 360Xplorer?  Also, is it possible to just drag and drop the whole udata/tdata folders of an original xbox HD, and have them work as saves for the 360 backwards compatibility?  Thanks in advance.

Not on 'read' (see here), but I've yet to check out writing for myself.

I believe other people have managed to use xplorer360 and written fine, just make sure you dont use other software or windows to write to it i guesse.

Im still thinkin wether its worth me dissembling my drive right now  tongue.gif  but I dont see anything wrong with uploading all saves from UDATA and TDATA - Just put them in the right folder - H2 or something I believe it is.

USB SATA Hook-Up cable

Would this work with Xplorer360?

Yes, but would still require opening the hdd casing to get at the sata port

I installed a PCI sata card into my comp to read the x360 drive, the particular card i got had an external sata port so all i had to do was rig up a power cable to power the drive.

I read the drive fine with the latest xplorer360, and added a folder jsut for the hell of it.

I'm lookin to try and make a better connector so i dont have to open the drive casing every time...
