Last character should always be 0/1 regardless of whats on the drive label.

**If I read what you were trying to say proper;y**

You shouldnt be editing your data.

you can even hook up the BenQ with a data cable, CK3 or whatever, run a dump as you would with a Liteon and you will get key, identify and inquiry bins and compare them to that area in your firmware then you will solve this for yourself..

string in BenQ firmware, I believe should be 00 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88 99 AA BB CC DD EE FA followed immediately by your drive key, I don't pretend to be an expert but for your first drive, open both firmwares and see yourself, then open both firmwares for drive 2, the one that has the same string will be right. string for me is the same for two different BenQs, same in both original and Ix1.6
that will answer which is right, as for why? that is for someone else, perhaps you will find out when you check them both yourself, my guess is you will find your key there in the wrong one

Toddler,

What are the differences?  What version of BenQ was #1 and #2?

Firmtool copies the entire key range for BenQ from original to the hacked firmware.  So, the key range should be identical to that of the original.

Caster.
