you never tried linux on a real pc right? XD
compared to windows it runs much faster and if you want even more speed you can compile from source and optimize everything for your cpu.
then there's memory management. let windows run for 3 days and look at the memory usage. do the same for linux and you'll see there's much more free space.
i like this people who tried one distro on a game console which has somewhat around 42 mb of ram available (64 mb shared with gpu) and then tell everyone that windows runs better on there 3 ghz pc with 1 gb ram
