Stripped Screw Hole For No Solder Chip, How Fix?
« on: August 11, 2004, 08:40:00 AM »

1.) try your way and that might work
2.) get a bigger screw
3.) get some masking tape and make tiny sqaures that just fit over the hole
put about 5-6 layers then with the screw push down into the threads it will
put presure on the screw and let it tighten down
4.) try the bolt method (dont recommend) drill out the screw hole threw the
bottom of the case, put a bolt thru the whole setup and then tifhten

The glue way is good, I've done that in the past. Pour in the glue, let it dry, then drill a hole for the screw. Or the easier way, just put in a bigger screw heh.

UPDATE

Well i first tried the glue method, i used hot glue.  That didn't work it just made the screw in go in not straight.  Failing that i tried the bolt method.  Drilled thru the case, found a nice size bolt/nut and screwed it in very tight.  Awesome idea thanks!!  Here are pics of the success..
