Problem With Hitachi 47 And 59
« on: February 12, 2008, 07:37:00 PM »

when i try to flash in toolbox i get verify write sector failed on a hitachi 59 and 47 i know the drives are good cause they show the info in windows, like the ntsc game disc stuff, i have not been able to mod them for some reason, and I can't test cause the xbox that they came from are rrod consoles, but i know that the drives are good, I can't flash iextreme but I can flash new keys to them make any sense?

i do a classic dump, then smart hack patcher, save that file, but it will not write to the drive.

i'm thinking that i don't have it in the proper modeb, cause in slax when is says waiting on disk to spin i have to eject the drive to get it to go to the next step, and once i do that I have to hit eject twice to get it to go back in, does that sound normal?

Have you tried using ixtreme1.4 for hitachis rather than Firmwaretoolbox?
I only use FWtoolbox for 78's

Much easier to use the windows version & the included batch files.

If they show up in windows, then they are in Mode B... Make sure there is now disk in the drive, I'm not sure from your post is there is or not....

Suggest you RTFM and try over....

Are you talking about the flashix?  Cause that does not work either, it says one of four things could be wrong, and doesn't flash it.

Also there is a disk in the drive cause i use firmware tool to open and close the drive to get the green light to flash.

toolbox is a windows app that can read/flash the hitachi's within windows.....

Seriously, take the time to RTFM the section on 78's, shows how to use toolbox

Theis again sounds like an issue if the directory is too long (flashix)

Move files to a single folder on the root of C: and try flashix batch file command

I did that I put everything in the root c folder, and it didn't work still, gave the same errors.  Anybody know anything else?
