Accessing The Dvd From Stepmaniax

In /data/stepmania.ini, there is this line

AdditionalSongFolders=

and I want to use it to load my song archive from DVD due to filename character/length issues. However...

The stepmania program folder is mounted as D: inside stepmania, so putting D:\Extrasongs here will use the extrasongs folder in the Stepmania folder.

Has anyone managed to point this at the DVD, does it have a drive letter (not going to burn dvds and poke around at random paths as I have no DVD-RWs), or is there a better way to do it?
