Has anyone tried reading a 360 disc from an xbox1 dvd drive?

Since an xbox1 dvd drive reads that it is a 360 disc, maybe we could see what else is on the disc via ftp, or just one of the many file managers there are on xbox.

I don't think it recognizes it as anything but a regular DVd and plays the Video file.

We're only talking about reading the contents of the disc.  Not playing the games!

I think this was tried already and talked about in another thread.

To summarize what they found:
When you put an Xbox 360 game into the xbox only vob files show up like on a DVD.  This must mean that the xbox 360 disks have a hidden partition, probably only readable on the xbox 360.

The message everyone sees when you put the xbox 360 disk into the xbox can also be seen in dvd players and other things that play DVDs (PS2 and what not).

That much has been made clear.  What I want to know is if you use a SATA to IDE converter, using the 360 DVD in the xbox1, can it read the DVDs?

Doubtful. The drive firmware has to follow a standard that a PC could read. Its highly doubtful that MS included a drive that followed any known firmware standards.

SATA, IDE, SCSI...no converter will be able to help you get past the firmware. So unless we see someone pull the firmware bin off and fudges that or someone write a specific driver for the unit, don't expect too much out of the elementary hacks.

do some one know why xbox 360 doesnt simply be read in a a pc dvd drive... i read somewhere that the x360 use dvd-dl disk... so occording to the standard is should be readable on any drive... at least at low level...
as long as the density of the disk isnt change it should be possible to read it ?...

The firmware is programed to only work with the 360, just like the original box.  Don't waste your time putting it in a pc or an xbox 1 or anything else.  You guys are forgetting how different the Xbox and the Xbox 360 are.  THings are not going to be cross compatible.  Not drives, not firmware, none of it.  Let it go.  Other ways will come up.
