Shortcut For Copying Games With The New Update

When you install games on the 360 it seems to copy nearly all of it (or all of it), They seem to take up round about 7gig. If the new update actually is copying the whole game to the hard drive and the fact that you have to put the disk in is just a security measure then could someone possibly develop a hack to disable that security measure? Its just an idea, im using an elite so having 120gig to install games is more then enough. Could the copying system go back to what the first xbox used? Is this possible?
