0031 On Jtag

try removing the dvd drive

I had a console that would be 0021 and sometimes 0031 and it gave the error instantly. I took out the drive and it worked fine after that. But then I put the drive back in and tried turning it on and smoke come out of the dvd drive. one of the fuses was burned out and i replaced that. so now it turns on but it wont read games or anything. kinda weird.

in any case i'll be replacing the drive...

Hey thanks for the input, I actually got it all sorted, was a spec of solder than slid under the ram brick causing a short. Just blew it out with a air gun, alls well now. Was stumped for a bit though! Cheers
