Well yea, that would fix it probably, but it looks very ugly!  The best way is to just do the Xclamp replacement.  Many people dont realize that it is the answer, and they think it doesn't work all the time because they just dont do it right.  There are crucial steps in the xclamp replacement process that you must test out to find which works best for you....and sadly many dont do that, they just do it once and cry when it still doesnt work!
