So yesterday, I checked my dash.  4552, sorry, I'm screwed.  Luckily a kid's box I flashed had a problem.  D: 2.0.2528.0 K: 2.0.2528.0.  It's hard to hold back the tears.

Congrats Crawler360. As with most people I have updated to the 4552 kernel. Personally I wont be able to give up you live for homebrew. It's either both or no homebrew, i still have my Xbox1 to keep me going. Once the 360 price drops more I might pickup a second unit with an older kernel.

Now that the exploit is found there is a good chance that better exploits will be found down the road. Truly get news for the scene. Can't wait to see what progress is made now that the door is open.

I have 4552 also hopefully this leads to a hack that is easier and works for 4552...

If you had the appropriate tools(fancy rework station) and skills, do you think it would be possible to remove the cpu from a broken motherboard with the 4548 kernel and replace the cpu with a blown efuse on a fully functional 4552 motherboard and then downgrade the kernel?  Would be interesting for someone with the right capabilities to try.

From what I've read on XBH, it seems you only use the serial port so as not to have to burn a new dvdr dl every time you'd like to test your homebrew.  I'm no coder, but from what I've read it looks as if you won't need the serial adapter very soon.  Once someone can find a way to install a dashboard, which from the looks of things is very possible, you'll only need to burn off your backup of King Kong with the dash installer on it, and then it's headfirst into homebrew fun.

I can only imagine what will come of homebrew on the xbox 360.  Perhaps finally a DC emu?  PS2 even?

For now, I guess, we leave it to the pro's to tinker and exploit their hearts out.

Great job Crawler360 - can't wait to see what comes of this. I on one hand couldn't go without Live because of all the local friends I have on it, but if homebrew becomes a reality and the 360 becomes cheaper I would definatly love to join in on the fun.
