How To Stream Media From A Freenas Server To The 360?
« on: January 08, 2010, 10:41:00 PM »

You will need to find a DLNA / uPnP AV server for freenas.

Get that software running and configured with your files.

Turn on the xbox and brows to the video tab and you should see your  AV server listed as a video source.

Select your AV Server and browse to your desired video and press A to start.

I'm not a linux Guru but I hope you get the general idea from post.

Keep in mind for HD video streams you need to keep your Bitrates under 13bps or the video may stutter even on wired networks.  This is becuase MS has optimised their AV client for WMP / WMC and not adhered to the accepted standards.
