It's official. In the UK, Sky has launched on Xbox LIVE and Gold members with at least 2Mb broadband and either a Sky TV or Sky Player can watch Sky One, MTV and Sky Arts, reports CVG.

Those without Sky subscriptions can subscribe for £15 and for £19 for sports channels. Twenty-four channels are currently on the Sky service.

According to Sky's David Mercer, terrestrial channels are not yet available and programs won't be shown in HD because of poor British broadband speeds.

bskyb(and the sky brand) is a uk/ireland sattellite provider. the only way you would get it in the us is with direct tv or another us provider.

[edit]although i am aware that there is a few other veriations by news corp such as sky italia but they are not part of the bskyb's sky

Well, at least the promise of IPTV got filled somewhere on the 360. Considering all the 'partnerships' we were led to see coming, it's nice to see that it's not a complete bust.

Which is exactly what I will do, never use this feature.
I wouldn't pay the Live, Sky, phone line and broadband subscription to watch SD TV!

Yet, Microsoft still thinks that 1080p video streaming is better than Blu ray, why?

yup at present they have took it off, was supposed to be not that long ago and still nothing. Also it works out to be cheaper if you have a sky digibox and not through the xbox. hamwbone I said the same thing about the rest of us when Americans etc got Netflix and when they got the movies service first. So obviously we all have to benefit from something, what one gets the rest have to get something of equal value.

Depends if it is upscaled or tampered in any other way.
