Microsoft plans on releasing a seven-part series spanning from its origins to the game's third installment, titled Halo Legends.

The series will be available for download via Xbox Live this fall. According to Blu-ray.com we can expect to see this on Blu-ray sometime in 2010, so there will finally be a disc labeled Halo that will play on the PS3 for all the Halo fans.

However, since the Xbox 360 doesn't support Blu-ray, it makes you wonder if Blu-ray is in the 360's future? Or maybe the next-gen Xbox?

next gen for sure. the movie is coming out in bluray because hd-dvd is dead, and regular dvd is on its way out, and they want more sales.

there won't be a bluray addon for the 360. not today, not tomorrow

I thought it was pretty cool and a lot of time playing on legendary on Halo 1 and 2 it was pretty difficult to keep up, maybe because it was y first time on a FPS.

and of course the next xbox will have BlueRay

It will happen in time.  Probably once the economy starts gaining momentum again.  I am seeing less and less TVs around that aren't HD.  All technology eventually becomes dated.  I remember thinking to myself that they will never stop making VHS tapes... and guess what happened!  I think the only thing really holding back blu-ray now is the price.

I would say old more then over-rated in terms of gameplay, but the story is FANTASTIC and that is exactly what this series is going to be.  I just wish it was new stuff and not the Halo 1-3 story all over again.  Hopefully they keep it fresh by adding stuff in we haven't really seen before.

I am sick of the xbox blueray rumors.

You can't be THAT sick of the rumors seeing as how you still don't spell blu-ray right.  I remember how to spell it by saying to myself that it is one letter away from blurry.

We'll see. I'm not a fan of blu-ray, as I am likely blind, lol.

They'd be stupid not to.. Short of reviving HD-DVD totally for games, like a propietry disc (UMD?)

Using an abandoned disc format would be a good way of combatting piracy, as long as they use features of the HD DVD format that can't easily be replicated by Blu-Ray.

A dual-format drive would give the best of both worlds: Blu-Ray playback for movies, and HD-DVD for games (HD-DVD movie playback would be a nice bonus).

Gotta love the hipocrisy. This generation we have had only 2 Halo fps's. Whereas we are going into the 5'th Call of Duty when MW2 comes out.

Er, actually 6th Call of Duty. In MW2 Hardened edition you get Call of Duty 1 too.

Call of Duty has come farther in terms of gameplay then Halo has, especially the leap they took between 3 and modern warfare.  Hopefully if they do eventually come out with a Halo 4, they figure out ways to innovate it enough to kind of replicate that same leap CoD took.  Hopefully they will figure out something for Halo: Reach if it is in fact a FPS.  In Bungie's defense though, I think Halo 2 was brilliant in terms of Multiplayer, I don't think it left as much room for improvement as the first Call of Duty 3 did.
