Not Playing Avi Or Mp4

hi i downloaded the new update for my 360. now none of my avi's or mp4s are playing from my USB

i get an error - cant play ths content because it may not be supported

status cde - 69 - C00D36BE

pls help

It happened to me too. The MP4 plugin (add-on, whatever) has to be reinstalled. But I have had no luck getting my .avis to play. And it's not even all of them just a few, gotta go through and see if there is a common codec or something.

yup, codec issues on the avis. I went through and all the files that don't play are divx codec with an avi wrapper, also noticed a few files were missing from the xbox menu, those are generic mp4 codecs in the avi wrapper. I changed the .avi extension to either .divx or .mp4 and now they work fine. Not a big deal since i only have a few files that are affected, but kind of a pain. Hope this helps.
