Can 360 Play Hd Media?
« on: February 03, 2009, 02:59:00 PM »

I just got a dlink dns-323 and it has streaming capabilities, so ive been playing with this.

i've streamed xvid files and it worked perfectly. Although some of my xvid avi's don't work. Anyone know why?

Ok so I have these .WMV hd files. The one I have is 4.5gb, but it buffers on the xbox every 5seconds.
Is this a network issue because I'm using wifi G and would using ethernet alleviate the problem?

I've been reading other threads concerning conversions.. talking about bitrates etc.... is the problem file size?
If it's file size then a 4.7gb dvd won't stream correctly because the 4.5gb wmv wont play?
Or is it all about compression...

Thanks

maybe 1080p is just too much too handle over 802.11g so ive read.

getting a N router wont do anything since the wireless adapter doesnt accept N

I will try 720p stuff.

The bitrate of your files is higher than what your signal strength can transfer.
