G4 today announced that it is making some of its TV series available on Xbox Live Video Store. Available now are the animated series Code Monkeys (along with a free sneak preview of season 2), the "snowboarder reality series" The Block, and the "live trip to the digital water cooler," Attack of the Show. This will be the first time G4's content has been offered on a gaming console.

"G4 is a natural fit to be part of the Xbox LIVE community. Our young male audience spends more time interfacing with technology than any other network," said Neal Tiles, President, G4. "This partnership underscores G4's commitment to bringing relevant and authentic content to young guys in more ways than ever before."

It's to bad that G4 got rid of their good shows.

I used to watch Attack of the Show when Kevin Rose was on there... But then I stopped watching after he left.

Are the shows going to be free to download or are they charging for them?

are their any actual gaming or tech shows left on G4?

Actually that's one of the reasons I stopped watching the channel all together.  They've put a lot of shows that Techies Might Enjoy and removed a lot of the stuff I used to like when the channel was TechTV.  I guess there's no money to be made in actual Tech shows and it's better to show reruns of Star Trek and Cops?  Go figure.  I guess they figure the real Tech shows are on the internet so why compete.

Well, it means nothing to people outside the continent of the united states due to the 'regionalising' of online media content on the box.

Stupid question but if they propose to charge for this content on market place, do they charge on G4tv?

Yes, running 'The Man Show', Cops & Cheaters is a lot more relevant to 'Tech TV' than shows they cancel like 'Arena' or 'The Screen Savers'.

Despite XBox Live having ads, 99% of TV shows on the marketplace cost money.

I don't see how people will justify paying for this content, it seems like it shouldn't cost anything. They should allow you to have it free and if it sparks enough interest in said user, they can order that channel from their television provider. You could probably buy a month of programming for that entire channel for the amount they will charge you for one episode of one show.

Thats very true.  But the channel is only worth paying for if you want to watch cops.  They seem to play that show all day long now.

I miss techtv.  G4 seems to have bought that whole network just to get x-play.  Bring back the screen savers, Call for help, and all the other good shows that techtv had and i would pay to dl a few of those.  I learned alot of pc tricks watching those shows.
