Wireless Network Streaming?
« on: May 27, 2008, 12:16:00 PM »

Hi all,

Ive always had a problem and never been able to connect my media centre to my xbox wireless connection.

My laptop is wireless and so is my xbox360.

both are on a network to a netgear router. but how on earth am I to get the xbox and laptop to communicate, neither picks up the other on the network. if i hadwire the laptop it then picks it up but that will never be the setup as the router is located elsewhere.

anyone any ideas?

make sure you laptops firewall is disabled first. it may cause problems. but to me it sounds like a router problem, because when you hardwire it, its only taking the router out of the equation

Are you trying to connect your Xbox 360 to your laptop via Windows Media Player 11 or via Windows Media Center and accessing it as an extender?  The reason I ask is because I too have issues when trying to connect my 360 to my Media Center via wireless when I use the 360 as an Extender.  I get disconnected all the time.
