Sound Issues (one For Mr Pimping Methinks)
« on: October 12, 2007, 03:39:00 AM »

Hi....

Having some issues with sound on my 360....
Im sure if anyone might have an idea it will be you Mr Pimping..... biggrin.gif

Setup....
TV - Not used for sound only display.
360 - connected to TV by VGA and connected to 5.1 system by Optical.
5.1 - cheap ass AS- DS533

when using my Sky+ evreything is fine and the sound quality is fine (for a cheap ass 5.1 unit)
However i run into an issue or two with my 360.

when firing up the 360 or playing games the sound is just fine.
but when i run media center i get a very loud hiss/static from my surround speakers.
as if you turned up your stereo to max with no music playing.

im thinking as its only when running media center, then its not the 5.1 system or connections etc.
but rather more likely a configuration issues either on the 360 or my host PC (Vista Ultimate 64bit).

there dosnt seem to be any difference if the file being played is .TS .WMV or VOB converted to Mpg.

any ideas ?
