Microsoft debuts Extenders for Windows Media Center, adds DivX and Xvi

the ultimatium of DivX/Xvid or full homebrew on 360 seems likely.  I fear for MS it may be too little to late, though.  If they even port it to the 360.  Oh and whats with the DivX remarks, first it was based on hacks, but was redone in a clean-room.  Xvid will work if DivX works 90% of time because they are very similar (though you may need to change your file's fourcc).  Xvid only is slightly worse than x286 for HD (according to doom9, and is a faster, so whatever, I still use it.  But yeah, they should finish x286 support too.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but what's the status of this?

Thanks
