Nero Recode 2 Settings For Play On 360?
« on: July 07, 2007, 08:19:00 PM »

Does anyone know what settings should be used to encode a DVD using Nero Recode 2 so that it best plays on the Xbox 360?

A DVD is a DVD. You don't need to do anything special to make it play on a 360.

I think he means converting a dvd to neros version of the h264 codec. If so,  I doubt it will work but you could give it a shot wink.gif

Oh yeah I totally missed that one. Time to put the bong down. I recommend you rip the DVD, then convert it to WMV with the tutorial in my signature. Just set the resolution to 720x480 and that should give you a good looking result. You'll want to adjust the bitrate with the calculator to whatever filesize you're trying to hit. Without testing it's hard to say.

I'm ripping with DVDFab to my hard drive.  Your tutorial looks to deal with converting an already converted DVD file in x264 format to WMV.  What would it take to use the ripped DVD directory to go straight to WMV?

I'm pretty sure you can use his guide but instead of using the x264 files use your .VOB files from the dvd smile.gif

I'm pretty sure you can just drag your VIDEO_TS folder into the source selector window. Then you select which chapters you want to convert. Be sure to select a 5.1 audio track. Or you can extract the .ac3 with ReJig. Either way should work.
