i don't think they're gonna change anything...

for me, i have to say that i'm totally satisfied with the update.
it gives me exactly what i wanted. i can now take my whole collection of tv-series dvd-boxes, convert them (pretty close to lossless) with nero digital (as it's tv-stuff, most of that is only stereo anyways) and store all the episodes on a big fat external hdd and playback them on my 360 =)

I have just done exactly the same thing using xvid. I store them on a 500gb hard disk attached to a nslu2 storage link, it is samba compatible so i no longer need a pc switched on to watch my movies/tv episodes :-)

it might an extension problem. for mkv for instance, you demux the h.264 video and remux it with a mp4 extension.

tried that using mkvextract... didnt work... think it may be just a non-standard (at least for the xbox360) file. Hopefully a lot of the tv rips will eventually become 360 compatible

Yeah i tested the nero digital and i was impressed with the de-interlacing on the h264 was much better than on the xvid. It was an episode of friends (from my dvd au region 4) the dvd is poor quality anyway compared to the region 2 uk versions but 264 seemed to be a bit better quality at similar file size... shame i cant stream from my wireless hard drive tho like i can with xbmc :-(
