Found this program while I was scouring the web for a decent converter from mpeg2 > WMV.  This done the trick, let me queue up the transfers and walk away.  Got them all onto my external HDD and the 360 reads every file no prob, only thing was the quality wasn't perfect (or even close) but I'm sure it can be tweaked.  Looking for something to convert file?  This is the program for you.  M2PMCEncoder (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
