Transcode 360 To Stream Hd .mkv Movies

I have a AMD 3800+ with 2GB or RAM running Windows MCE 2005. When I try and stream with Transcode 360 the  HD .MKV movies are choppy. I'am using a DI-524 Dlink router wired not wireless setup. What might I be doing wrong? Do I need a faster CPU? duel Core?
